The Way Out is Through

[Clint Cross]

"I was thinking about her too... part of me wished we somehow kept her, but... then it wouldn't really be her choice but still... she's not exactly in for a good day when she gets back." Clint sighed. "I hate seeing kids forced to grow up too quick... "

[Liara]

"Kept imagining what my father would have done if I'd been her." Selene said as she laid back on the bed. "I wanted to shoot her with a stun dart but I would have been no better than them. She deserved to choose."

[Clint Cross]

"I'm not entirely counting her out yet. You got through to her. Let that seed grow."

[Liara]

"With Hawk patience?" Selene inquired as she gently pulled Clint down next to her.

[Clint Cross]

"Yep." Clint said as he laid next to her. "Hey I'm one of the few men who survives the Black Widow's mating... I know a thing or two about a thing or two."

[Liara]

“Yes you do.” Selene laughed and kissed him. “Like how to make love. Which was...I don’t know I don’t want to say perfect. I feel like that’s cliche or something. It made me feel...I don’t know the feeling but it was good. I’m glad I found you Clint.”

[Clint Cross]

"I had practice... and I'm glad I found you too Selene." Clint replied with a smile. "I'm not usually one to believe in 'meant to be' but... kinda was. The timing... you needed something like this and... I needed you more than I realized."

[Liara]

“I needed you too.” Selene said looking into his eye as she touched his cheek. “I never thought I would need anyone until I meet you. I...I like you a lot Clint.”

Selene kissed his lips softly as she reached down, pulled the covers up around them, and smiled at him.

"I just don't know how to show it yet other than this." She told him as she slid down under the covers.

Rommie made her way quietly around the workshop putting away Clint and Selene's cleaned gear. The small dinning table was set with breakfast she'd ordered from the place Jon and Bella enjoyed. A pot of coffee was on the warmer and after she finished hanging up the suite she filled a cup for Clint. She gently sat it on the table next to the bed where she knew the smell would wake him.

Clint had actually slept pretty peacefully until the smell of coffee brought on a strange dream about dozens of the office girls from the Compound all trying to seduce him... and then finding them with their necks snapped and an 'innocent' looking Selene utterly in shock. Then he opened his eyes and saw the mug of coffee on the side table and groaned as he blinked a few times and found himself pinned down by Selene's legs. He sniffed the air and could smell breakfast and more coffee.

"Hey... breakfast Selene." Clint said softly as he ran his fingers through her hair, knowing full well a suddenly woken up Selene was usually met with some force and her knee was dangerously close to his unprotected crotch. "Time to wake up..."

[Liara]

"No," She said sleepy as she pulled the covers tighter and rolled over.

"Might not be a bad thing." Rommie said softly as she added a second cup to the table. "The builders are here. I made sure the workroom was secure and the new sound proofing you installed seems to be effective. It's chaos upstairs."
