Clint sighed. "I think we'll see her again and not as an enemy."

[Liara]

“I hope so. I really don’t want to have to kill her.” Selene said as she finished off her steak in silence. Her thoughts on Orlaith and how much she wished she could have done more to get her to stay with them. What punishments her parents were probably forcing her to endure because she’d failed them or worse because they found out she’d helped them.

[Clint Cross]

Clint joined her in silence and finished his meal and then reached out and held her hand. "Y'know... the fact that it's tearing us both up is a good sign. That we aren't completely cold killers. I mean, if we had to take her down, we would but... we wouldn't feel good about it. And we worry about her well being. That's part of what attracted me to my version of you. The way she was with Carly and other kids, despite trying her hardest to keep them away." He sighed and smiled slightly. "There's a lot more inside of you than you realize Selene. Kinda feel honored to help you on this journey and speaking of journey... after all this we're so going to need to walk some of this off."

[T'Kir]

T'Kir was picking up some carryout when she saw Clint and a woman that looked strikingly like Selene, moving silently to investigate, she saw that it was indeed Selene, yet... different.

"Director Cross... been a while since I've seen ye here." T'Kir said as she pretended to just happen on them, while in fact she was watching them for a good fifteen minutes. "An' Selene... lass... lookin' good for a dead lady."

"Selene... this is Speaker of the House T'Kir Foster... she's one of the Spies Support group members I was telling you about." Clint chuckled. "Malcolm sent you out for rip tips again huh? They do deliver..."

"Aye, they do, but they're always cold by the time they get through security." T'Kir replied and winked. "B'sides, no one can quite know where Malcolm and I actually live. Safety an' all. So ah... did we bury an empty box a few months ago or..."

"Different Selene, this is Agent Selene Lanara, from another reality... Kinsey's mother's protector. Kinda like how our's was Carly's." Clint explained.

"Ah, I see. Hmm... must've come from a hellscape of a reality for sure, never seen our Selene enjoy a steak quite so much. Poor thing. Well, let me tell ye, one former assassin to a current... this is a pretty good place, not perfect mind y'now, lots of bad guys lurking... mainly Scions and Ajem'dasis, a few mob types. Don' let it throw ye. We'll have to meet up some time, that was a regret of mine that I always put off spendin' much time with our Selene, always thought there'd be time later. Should'na known better, life of an agent like us... there's nae a later sometimes."

[Liara]

“I’d like that.” Selene said smiling at her. "Clint tells me you have something called Warbird. We'll have to share a drink sometime."

[T'Kir]

"Ha! Oh lass... that'll be fun." T'Kir laughed. "Yes, it's a wee bit more powerful than even the strongest Romulan Ale you've ever had. We'll have to plan a lassie's night... drink warbird and fire off high powered sniper rifles. M'lovely hubby set me up a range in the back of our place, I can sit on the balcony with m'Browning and pick off targets in the yard. It's good stress relief after dealin' with other politicians and the press. Some have forgotten that I was one of the most deadly Tal'Shiar agents in the Beta Quadrant before I defected. Still, I believe in diplomacy over cold steel. Why I became a diplomat and why I ran for Congress, pissin' and moanin' about the way things are does nea do jack shite. And... a Romulan that speaks like a Scot... got me the Scottish vote. I visited Scotland while I was still an agent, fell in love with the area... kind of didn't want to kill Terrans anymore. Would rather drink 'em under the table."

[Liara]

"I can sympathize with that." Selene said as she finished off her glass of wine. "I like it here. I would rather eat strawberries and streak than watch it burn."

[T'Kir]

"Indeed. Lot of good people here, lot of arseholes but a lot of good people." T'Kir said and smiled over at Clint who was paying the bill. "The man only ever had eyes for his Selene and it seems... only for you as well. He caught m'husband and I ah... mid coitus, I was buck naked and he didn't even look at me longer than he had to, just looked us both in the eyes, told us he'd call us later and left. Didn't blush, nothing. Other very attractive agents tried to flirt, shut them down cold. That Lyashev tried. Not a bloody thing. Ye'come along, and I can see he's got that look. He's a good man, weird, but what male isn't? Mind if I ask, since I barely know Tali yet, but... I take it yuir home reality was a right cesspool eh?"

[Liara]

"Compared to here...this is paradise." Selene said as she stood. "Tali use to tell me stories about this reality but I always thought she made it up."

[T'Kir]

"Oh it's real... although there are some other nice realities too. I've got a Congressman who was from another reality, no Imperium, no Scions, the Federation figured out the arseholes from within and took 'em out. Sounds bloody boring if y'ask me." T'Kir chuckled lightly. "It's never a dull moment, of course I would love a few more dull moments. Less freaked out constituents callin' m'office at all times of the day or night. Still, Malcolm is one of yuir agency's biggest supporters, as am I. I like SHIELD just fine now that we've got Decker in charge, but Naval Intel... y'lot always managed to get things done."
