Another Crashed Car

"Or do I just end it now, let someone else handle this and we take our son and find some place to disappear for a while? If Jack and Kinsey could basically tell us all to go fuck ourselves and go off to parts unknown... why not us?"

[Alice Ryder]

"I can't make that decision for you Nicholas not this time." Alice told him. "But you have to ask yourself...if you come with us will you be able to stay out of it? No matter what."

[Nick Ryder]

Nick looked at Alice and looked into her eyes. "When I made those vows, until death do us part. I meant it." he nodded his head. "I'll stay out of it unless they come at us, then we both make them regret it. I'm not President or the Admiral in charge anymore. You technically outrank me as your commission IS still valid, just on extended leave. So, Commander Ryder... you're in charge. I'll back you up. Our son was almost killed, you were almost killed." he looked down at the kildens in his hand. "The Jase and everyone else can handle this. We go dark."

[Alice Ryder]

"Good I hope you enjoy roughing it." Alice said as Gale came bouncing back into the study with his backpack and Froggie.

[Nick Ryder]

"Hey I'm game if you are." Nick raised an eyebrow. "So what's your idea of roughing it?"

[Alice Ryder]

"Not what you're thinking it is right now." Alice smirked. "Whatever your thinking imagine rougher."

"Are we going camping?" Gale inquired as he looked up at them.

"After a fashion." Alice told him.

"Okay this is so entirely worth seeing in person." Nick said and picked up Gale. "We're all going to be together and that's what's important kiddo. And we're going to both listen to mommy. Because you and I both know mommy's a genius."

[Alice Ryder]

"We'll I think it's a great time that Gale stays with the Cross's bit." Alice said smiling at him. "All packed I see."

Gale nodded his head.

"Good." She said ruffling his hair and eyed Nick. "Pack nothing. I mean it nothing. No technology and no clothing. Nothing. Whatever you have in your pockets you leave it in here before we walk out that door."

Nick pulled off his pants and went into the closet and pulled on a pair of jeans. "If this is going to be as roughing it as you say, dress slacks aren't going to hold up." he winked and slid into a pair of boots. "I better leave this here then." he pulled off his wedding band and replaced it with a silicone and crystalline based one. "If I don't have my usual tech kit with me, I don't want to mess up my hands if I get it caught on something like last time I was out with Clint."

"Good I think it's time we go drop off Gale." Alice said as she glanced towards the door. "Get us passed them."
