It Ain't Easy...

So far they all deserved it. Kinsey thought as she continued their descent and pushed away those dark thoughts before they could take hold. She needed to focus on the mission at hand and not on things that may never happen. K'n'zy was the one who didn't value life beyond her own not her. Jack's life was riding on whether they could rescue him or not and that was all that mattered, getting him out.

The decent took less then twenty minutes and left Kinsey winded. She was more out of shape then she originally thought but she wasn't going to admit it. She gave herself a moment as she pulled her rifle from her back and slowed her breathing and calmed her heart rate.

"If the layout is as close to Byron's as Jack suggested they should be just up ahead." Kinsey said as Khan crawled out of the jefferies tube just behind her.

"Good, I'm hearing a lot of movement in the decks below and above." Khan said as he followed behind her with his weapon drawn. "It's a good thing Natalia had me explore Byron... she was trying to find out how much old pre-Alliance AlphaTek gear was in use. Being the 'nice' hubby to be, I agreed, spent almost a week going around that station." he wrinkled his nose. "Although this station smells far far worse... nothing worse than the smell of uric acid on deuranium alloy... at least to an augment..."

There was a flash a blue, and hum of energy as a kliden sliced through one of many that were moving in on their position.


Ja'larin pivoted on her heel and blocked a phaser with her kliden and with her other hand jerked the weapon out of his hand.

Ashley had already taken aim and shot the man. He fell to the deck writhing in pain. A gut shot that would surely be fatal, but the death slow if medics didn't tend to him soon enough. She grinned sadistically.

Ja'larin gave her a suspicious look before plunging back into battle.

"Don't give it a second thought." Kirby said as she shot two men in rapid succession. "He more than deserved it. Locked Ashley in a metal mask for three days while he used her. I had to drink his..." she shot the body again with her own weapon. "Less thought of him the better. Let's keep moving."

Ashley looked back regretfully, "Death is too good for him. He should have suffered." She didn't spare much time for him though. She lifted the plasma rifle and shot one of the new guys in the head, "He hadn't touched me yet, but he was with Dominus so he's scum."

Ja'larin ignored her and the in a sweeping motion cut down thee more in one wide arc. "Where to?"

"This way." Kirby gestured. "Once we're sure Dominus' forces are off this section of the station, Jack'll blow it into space and we'll have a very short window before we both run out of air and the starbase can lock on and blow us up. So I really really hope there's a good transporter operator on that ship. Or I swear I am haunting someone." she looked at Ashley "And you girlfriend... you and I are spending a weekend at a spa or something, I feel like I need to shed an entire layer of skin after being here. Probably ten times worse for you since you've kinda been here way longer than I've been."

"No. The last thing I want is more people," she replied. "I want a real bed and none of you bloody wankers."

"Did you actually call me a 'Wanker' girl?" Kirby laughed. "Some Sheilas... " she shook her head. "Solitude is nice though. Me... I have my mind set on rekindling something with one special person and let's hope that someone else didn't screw that up for me." she smiled. "My son... and... well... Jack's sister. I'm through with men... I swear if I see a penis it's going flying."

Ashley simply nodded. She was in complete agreement. "Not sure that I could swing the other way though. Look out!" She raised rifle and her shot went wide.

The shot hit the wall next to Kinsey’s head just as she shot the man in front of her.

“I’m seriously considering shooting you.” Kinsey said as she kept her rifle trained on Ashley. “Kirby nice to see you in one piece again.”
